Algoriddmic is NDV’s third solo EP on Botanika, the follow up to his previous EP, Logariddmic. These two EP’s were conceived around the alchemy of bass-heavy synthesized sounds with Afro and Latin beats; of western scientific formulas with the voodoo of tribal beats. But the results go way beyond any experimental lab-fare.
The drum patterns are heavy, taking their cues from the current threads of UK Funky, House and the various mutations bundled together under Bass music, which are met up with NDV’s far-reaching studio experience, going back to the heydays of Bruk. Mind Over Matters and Night & Day find these modern/ancient rhythms coupled with cut-up feminine samples, while Trimmed is topped off with splashes of tropical marimbas.
Algoriddmic is an EP that avoids easy categorization and gives a unique perspective on today’s sound. Do the math.

Since launching the Botanika website, we’ve neglected our old mailing list, a list which started almost 10 years ago, at the very early days of SheLeG (remember..?), and which then morphed into the Botanika Gazette.
Now that we have overcome some minor technical obstacles, we believe we can finally integrate the mailing list and the website. We will still continue to update the website as usual, but now all the new posts – podcasts, new releases on the Botanika label, DJ dates and other Botanika related news and goodies – can also be sent out automatically to all of our subscribers.
As we don’t believe in spamming, you can easily unsubscribe yourself from the list, change the settings of what info is sent out to you and how often. Manage your subscription right here.
If you have any problems doing so, or if there is any other issues you want to discuss with us, don’t hesitate to contact us.
In the meantime, if you haven’t been around our website, take your time and see what we’ve been up to – check out our Botanika label releases, dive into our extensive podcast archive and have a look at the forthcoming DJ dates on our calendar..
